Three men arrested while police recover six high-end bicycles

Officers from WRPS’ Neighbourhood Policing Central Division have arrested three males and recovered six high-end bicycles in an ongoing proactive investigation.

Between Oct. 4 and Oct. 22 officers recovered six high-end stolen bicycles in the areas of Centreville and downtown Kitchener.

The value of the recovered stolen bicycles is more than $21,000. Five of the stolen bicycles have been returned to their rightful owners. 

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a 34-year-old male was arrested and charged with:

  • Break-and-enter
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Breach of probation
  • Mischief under $5,000 (two counts)
  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 (two counts)

The male was held for a bail hearing.

A 35-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Possession of break-in tools
  • Carry a concealed weapon
  • Theft of mail (two counts)

A 42-year-old Waterloo male was arrested and charged with Theft Over $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing, and officers are looking to locate the owner of the pictured bicycle.

Police encourage bicycle owners to take photos of their bicycle and bike’s serial number. If police locate a suspected stolen bicycle, this information will help officers identify who the bike may belong to and return it to the rightful owner.
