Man in life-threatening condition after residential fire in Cambridge

Building near Main Street East and Franklin Boulevard sustains major damage

The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) and emergency services responded to a residential fire Saturday night in Cambridge in which a man was seriously injured.

At around 6:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a fire in the area of Main Street East and Franklin Boulevard.

The building sustained major damage, police said in a news release.

A 69-year-old male was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

The WRPS are working with the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office which is leading the investigation.
