Waterloo Regional Police are warning the public of an increased police presence in relation to a person with a firearm.
Police said Sunday morning at around 11:15 a.m. that they are investigating an incident in the area on Maple Grove Road and Cherry Blossom Road in Cambridge.
The intersection is not far from Waterloo Regional Police headquarters.
"Police are working to confirm reports of an individual who may have had a firearm in the area," the WRPS said in a social media post.
Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area.
