Two stolen trucks, including one from Waterloo, were recovered during a traffic stop in Brampton this afternoon.
An X post from the Highway Safety Division of the Ontario Provincial Police details the seizure and charges facing the driver.
Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said Ministry of Transportation officers were doing a routine patrol and enforcement on Highway 50 in Brampton on Tuesday afternoon when they came across a commercial truck and made a traffic stop.
The driver was unable to provide any information to officers about the contents of the truck or its destination.
Upon inspecting the cargo, the officers found two pick-up trucks, both reported stolen, one from Waterloo, the other out of Toronto.
The driver said he was headed to Montreal.
"Obviously these trucks would probably never be seen again," Schmidt said.
The investigation is ongoing and the driver is in custody facing charges of possession of stolen property and trafficking of stolen property, he said.
