Man charged after knife brandished in Uptown Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police arrested a male after a call involving a knife being brandished in Waterloo.

On September 5, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a male brandishing a knife in the area of King Street South and Willis Way. 

There were no reported physical injuries as a result of the incident.

Through investigation police determined that the male subject was in possession of a prohibited weapon and controlled substance.

As a result, a 40-year-old male was been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of failure to comply with a probation order and three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to order.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
