Cambridge stunt driver nabbed by OPP near Erin

A 26-year-old Cambridge man is facing stunt driving charges after the white sedan he was driving was clocked going more than 50 km/hr over the posted 80 km/hr limit near Erin on Saturday.

A Wellington OPP officer was was monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 22 around 4 p.m. when the vehicle was spotted exceeding the posted speed limit. 

The driver was charged with:

  • Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Speeding 50+ km/hr contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the provincial offences court - Guelph, at a later date.

The driver's car has been impounded for two weeks and his licence has been suspended for 30 days.
