Police say 19-year-old wounded in 'targeted' shooting in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police say a teenager was wounded in a shooting Saturday night in Cambridge.

At around 9 p.m., police say they responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Elgin Street North and Northview Heights Drive.

"A 19-year-old Cambridge male received a gunshot wound to the lower body and was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," police said in a news release.

Police said investigators believe this was a targeted incident and do not have any public safety concerns.
