With heavy hearts, we announce that Luigi passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15th, 2024 at Cambridge Country Manor in his 96th year.
He is together once again with his beloved wife Maria (nee Petrone) after many years apart.
Loving father to Sabino and Felix Scaringella and Linda Peluso. Proud Nonno to Orazio “Ory” (Megan), Bianca Maria (Luca), Kayla (Bryant), Matthew (Olivia) and Great-Nonno to Elio, Gioia and Emma. Dearest brother to Giovanna (Tonino) Mazzilli and Concetta (Luigi) Canillo. Predeceased by his parents Savino and Maria (nee Marinelli) and siblings: Rosa Verni and Michele (Giuseppina) Scaringella. Gino will be lovingly remembered by extended family and friends, including his in-laws Enrico and Maria Peluso.
Gino was the life of every party, a true joker with an infectious sense of humour. Known for his love of entertaining, he delighted friends and family with his impromptu skits and joyful singing. Gino never missed an opportunity to lead the toast, always crafting a memorable rhyme or limerick. His presence was a gift, bringing laughter and light to all who knew him.
Relatives and friends will be received on Friday, July 19th, 2024 at Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (519-653-3251) from 5 – 7 p.m. Gino will be laid to rest at Highland Memory Gardens, 33 Memory Gardens Lane, North York the following day, Saturday, July 20th, 2024 at 1 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Gino’s memory may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada, a cause that has deeply impacted Gino’s family.
