December 31, 1965 – October 20, 2024
Cara passed away peacefully on October 20 and will be laid to rest in Cambridge with her parents, Mabel and Les Fisher, who predeceased her.
Although her end came suddenly, her life was much longer and more full of adventure than was thought possible when she was born with Down Syndrome. Cara was easy going, very funny, had a phenomenal memory, loved people and music and did a great Elvis impression.
She is survived and dearly remembered by her siblings Harriet (Lahey), Sheila (Regehr), Scott, Randy and Mark, and their partners Rick Lahey, Roan Kane, and Wendy Stares, Cara’s nieces and nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
Her siblings would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful, caring staff at group homes where Cara lived as an adult.
Donations in her name to Community Living Cambridge would be a welcomed tribute.
