“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.” These words by Mother Teresa perfectly capture the spirit of our Lyla Paddon, who passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, at the age of 95.

Devoted Grandmother to Edward and Victoria Paddon (Matthew), Shawn (Miwako), Scott (Tracy), Sarah and Patrick (Nicole) Holman. Jeffery (Dianna), Christopher (Kristy), and Terri-Jean (Derek) Mann. Lyla will be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren, Jace, Ashley, Mason, Travis Holman, Mackenzie Holman-Mallaley, Dexter and Claire Holman, Garrison, Gwenn, Chase, and Kylee Mann, Liam Gary, Megan-Jean, and Avery-Jean Mann-Mitchell. Loving sister of Eileen and Connie. Pre-deceased by her sisters and brothers, Mary, Ed, Dorothy, Gordon, Bernard, Kathleen, Georgina, Jack, Bella, Jeanette, Teresa, Jammie, Danny, Barb, and Calvin. Lyla will be sadly missed by all of us.

Born on September 6, 1929, in Wallaceburg, she worked tirelessly to save and provide a good life for her family. Her dedication and hard work were evident in everything she did. With her warm smile and kind heart, she touched the lives of all those that surrounded her. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lyla Paddon was known for her generosity, wisdom, and unwavering support. She spent countless hours nurturing those around her, believing deeply in the importance of love and connection.

Her legacy will live on through the love she shared and the values she instilled in her family. As we gather to celebrate her remarkable life, we remember her laughter, her stories, and the warmth she brought into our lives.

In her memory, we hold close the words of Mother Teresa: “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Rest in peace Lyla Paddon, your love will forever guide us.

A special thank you to Dr. Crosby (retired) and all of the staff, nurses and doctors at Riverbend Place for the excellent care of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
