Donna Jean Irene Nicholls, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital. Born on July 2, 1945, in Port Credit, Ontario, Donna's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of giving.
Donna was the loving mother of Brian Hagerman (Karen). Doing grandmother of Jillian Askes and Nicholas Hagerman, and was eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-grandchild in May, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to grow. Dear sister of Cheryl Hartwick.
Donna is predeceased by her parents Idelle Templemen and Osborn Freeman, as well as four brothers.
Donna inherited a spirit of compassion and a smile that could light up any room. Her selfless nature was the cornerstone of her existence. She was the heart of her family, always providing a warm and welcoming home to anyone in need. Her kind heart knew no bounds, and she was always thankful for the people around her and the blessings in her life. Her generous spirit extended beyond her family, touching the lives of many who had the privilege to know her.
Her interests were simple yet profound. Donna found joy in watching Christian programs every Sunday, which nourished. She loved playing cards, and was always ready to challenge friends and family to a game of Scrabble.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Donna’s care team, especially the extraordinary Paramed PSW’s for all of your dedication and compassion over the years, as well as the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital, seventh floor, for your profound professionalism and care of Donna in her final days, your kindness and support does not go unnoticed.
As per Donna’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no services will be held at this time. Memorial donations made to St. Mary’s General Hospital Foundation in Donna’s memory would be greatly appreciated by the family (payable by cheque or following the link below).
