Passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Mississauga on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at the age of 68. Loving brother of Karen Connon and Sharon Nymeyer (Berny). Proud uncle of Brett, Ryan (Cassandra) and Lee Anne (Kurt) and great-uncle of Charlie and Reid Belanger. Predeceased by his parents Fred and Audrey McCurdy. Phil will be fondly remembered for his heart of gold; he cherished his family and friends, and he would do anything for any of them. He loved teasing those he loved. For years he referred to his nephews and niece as “Bratt”, “Rotten” and “Poppet”, who knows what he would have come up with for Charlie and Reid! He loved motorcycle road trips with his longtime friend Dave, sport car rallies with the MGB Club, and woodworking in his tiny workshop. He had a lifelong love of animals, fostering many kittens along the way.
At Phil’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, on Thursday January 16, 2025, from 4-7p.m. Please wear casual attire, as Phil would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
