With just over a month until the Cambridge Terry Fox Run, volunteers are busy getting ready for the annual fundraiser.
On Sept. 15, residents will gather in Riverside Park to raise money for cancer research through a 2.5, five or 10 kilometre run.
In honour of the 44 years since Fox embarked on his journey across Canada, the volunteer committee is calling on Cambridge businesses to donate $44 to the Terry Fox Foundation.
As a 100 per cent volunteer-led team, the committee relies on businesses and individual donations to help put on the event that's been taking place in the community for over 40 years.
To date, the Cambridge run has raised $1,290 of its $25,000 goal for 2024.
The opening ceremony begins at 11:45 a.m. with the run starting at 12 p.m.
