A local chicken joint is opening up sooner than expected.
After initially saying it was looking to open its doors in October, Coop Wicked Chicken & Bar on Hespeler Road will now be welcoming customers beginning Sept. 17, according to the company.
No official reasoning for the expedited opening was given.
The chain, which also has a location at 1 Queen Street North in Kitchener, describes itself as "an '80s and '90s inspired nostalgia-loving restaurant open for lunch, dinner and boozy weekend brunch."
Opening dates have yet to be confirmed for the Chick-fil-A and Browns Socialhouse across the road in the parking lot of the Cambridge Centre mall.
