Woman arrested for weapon and drug possession in Cambridge

Waterloo regional police have arrested a 43-year-old North Dumfries woman in connection to a breaching of release orders investigation, according to a news release.

On Wednesday, police located the woman in the area of Concession Street in Cambridge. She was observed breaching the terms of her release, police say.

As a result of the investigation, police seized a knife and various drugs, including suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a variety of unmarked pills.

The woman was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order, breach of probation, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs. 

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
