Waterloo Regional Police have released a photo of a man they would like to speak to following a report of suspicious behaviour earlier today in Wellesley Township.

Police say they received a report that an adult female and a child were approached by an unknown male driving a vehicle in the area of Queens Bush Road and Catherine Street in the town of Wellesley northwest of Kitchener.

Police said the unknown male attempted to engage the child in conversation before driving away.

The man's vehicle is described as a red Kia Sportage, according to a police news release.

Investigators would like to identify and speak with the male pictured in the photo they have released in connection with the incident.

There were no reported physical injuries as a result of the incident, police said.
