The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is proud to present its 2024-2027 Youth Engagement Strategy.

The evidence-based strategy provides direction to WRPS over the next three years in the priority areas of Community and Youth Safety, Education and Outreach, and Leadership and Development.

To develop this strategy, WRPS reviewed its internal youth-related data and actions from the Children and Youth Planning Table's Youth Impact Survey. The Service gathered additional strategy feedback from WRPS' Youth in Policing members and other community partners.

"Engaging with the youth in our community is important to building a safer and more inclusive Waterloo Region for all," said Mark Crowell, Chief of Police.

"The Youth Engagement Strategy reflects our commitment to working collaboratively with young people, community partners, and stakeholders to address their needs and concerns. The input and perspectives of our youth were invaluable in shaping this strategy, which will ensure their voices are at the forefront of our efforts to create a safer and more supportive community together."

The strategy is available for review on the Service's website: https://www.wrps.on.ca/youth/.
