Waterloo man charged after vehicle reported stolen found in Kitchener

Police found the suspect a short time after finding the vehicle unoccupied initially

Waterloo Regional Police arrested a Waterloo male after locating a stolen vehicle in Kitchener.

On Oct. 5, 2024, at approximately 9:40 p.m., members of Central Neighbourhood Policing located a reported stolen vehicle in the area of Greenbrook Drive and Westmount Road. The vehicle was reported stolen earlier by the Ontario Provincial Police.

The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of locating it. Shortly after, officers from North Neighbourhood Policing and K9 located the male suspect and placed him under arrest.

The 33-year-old Waterloo male was charged with numerous criminal offences including possession of stolen property over $5,000 and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
