The Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged two more individuals in connection with the 2019 kidnapping and homicide of Jason Brown.
The 43-year-old of Kitchener man, last seen in Harriston, was located deceased in March 2019 in the Oshawa area of Durham Region.
Three people have previously been charged with first degree murder in the case.
Last June, police charged a 30-year-old man from Wellington North with first degree murder, assault with a weapon and kidnapping in the case.
A 32-year-old man from Edmonton was arrested in November 2023.
Police arrested a 33 year old man from Brantford last November.
As a result of the investigation, two additional individuals have been charged this.
They are Mathew Drumond, 38 years old of London, charged with:
- First degree murder, section 465(1)(c)
- Conspiracy to commit indictable offence, section 235(1)
And Jessica Martin, 35 years old of North Perth, charged with:
- First degree murder, section 235(1)
- Kidnapping, section 279(1)(a)
- Obstruct justice, section 139(1) - three counts
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, section 354(1)(a) - two counts
The accused will make their next court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on Feb. 3, 2025.
The Wellington County OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch and with the assistance of the OPP Biker Enforcement Unit.
The Government of the Province of Ontario is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the death of Jason John BROWN.
