Police have charged two Cambridge men after police recovered a stolen vehicle in a scrap metal yard while investigating local scrap metal thefts.
Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) and officers from south division began investigating after a vehicle was stolen by two males March 2.
Earlier today, in relation to an ongoing investigation into scrap metal thefts in Cambridge, DART officers attended a scrap metal yard and located the stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was in the possession of a 46-year-old male, as well as a 38-year-old male who were both arrested.
As a result of the investigation, both men were charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and possession of break-in instruments.
Both were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
