Three men arrested in human trafficking investigation

The Waterloo Regional Police (WRPS) has charged three males involved in a human trafficking investigation.

In April 2024, officers began an investigation into the alleged human trafficking of adult females in the Waterloo Region.

As a result of the investigation, members of WRPS’ Human Trafficking Unit has arrested two 36-year-old males and a 50-year-old male with multiple offences including:

  • Human Trafficking
  • Receiving Material Benefit
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Exercise Control, Direction or Influence
  • Advertise Sexual Services
  • Money Laundering
  • Utter Death Threats

The three accused were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
