Teen charged with first degree murder in Kitchener homicide investigation

Police hope to identify a second suspect in a homicide investigation that began after a 28-year-old man was found dead outside a Kitchener home on Jan. 25, 2024

Waterloo regional police have arrested a Toronto youth in connection to a January 2024 homicide in Kitchener.

On Jan. 25, 2024 at approximately 9 a.m., police responded to reports of gunshots being fired on Gray Street near the intersection of Ottawa Street North and Lackner Boulevard. Upon arrival, police located a 28-year-old male deceased outside a residence.

Investigators determined that two suspects were involved in the shooting and sought to identify them.

On Nov. 12, the WRPS Major Crime Unit arrested and charged a 17-year-old Toronto male with First Degree Murder in connection to this homicide.

The accused remains in police custody.

The second suspect in this homicide remains at large. Investigators are seeking assistance from the public to identify the individual pictured.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests and charges are anticipated.
