Waterloo regional police were asking residents to avoid the area of Dundas Street North and Main Street for a report of a bank robbery earlier this afternoon.
In a post on X around 2:30 p.m., police said a male suspect with a firearm left the area on foot.
No physical injuries were reported.
Police have since cleared the area near the Bank of Montreal on Dundas Street and say there is no ongoing concern for public safety.
