Police investigating armed carjacking in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Robbery Unit is investigating a report of an armed robbery that occurred in Cambridge on October 6.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., police responded to the area of North Street and Hedley Street after an unknown male suspect approached a driver sitting in a vehicle and demanded they exit the vehicle.

The suspect brandished a black handgun and stole the vehicle. He was last seen driving south on Hedley Street.

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of this incident.

The investigation is ongoing by members of WRPS’ Robbery Unit.

Anyone who may have video footage in the area between the hours of 9:20 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. on October 6, 2022, is also encouraged to contact police.
