Police arrest Oakville man involved in recent hate-motivated incident in Waterloo

Waterloo regional police have charged a 20-year-old Oakville man with assault after investigating a recent hate-motivated incident in Waterloo.

On Jan. 13, at around 11:25 p.m., police responded to reports of a physical altercation in the area of King Street North and Princess Street East. 

The victim was assaulted by a male and sustained non-life-threatening physical injuries as a result of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, on Jan. 22, police arrested the man and charged him with assault.

He was held for a bail hearing.
