Pedestrian, 29, injured after being hit by vehicle at intersection

Police say victim transported to out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

Waterloo Regional Police’s Traffic Services Unit is investigating an incident Saturday night in the Hespeler area of Cambridge in which a pedestrian was struck.

Police say at around 9:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian at Queen Street West and Winston Boulevard.

The pedestrian was hit by a black Lexus turning from Queen Street onto Winston.

The pedestrian, a 29-year-old male from Cambridge, was transported to an out-of-region hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said in a news release.

The Lexus driver, a 72-year-old male from Cambridge, was not injured.

Police said an investigation is ongoing and asked anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage to call 519-570-9777, ext. 8856.
