North Dumfries man charged in early January hit-and-run

Waterloo Regional Police’s Traffic Service Unit has charged a North Dumfries male after a hit and run investigation.

On January 2, 2025, at approximately 6:10 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Wrigley Road near Dumfries Road in North Dumfries Township.

The pedestrian was struck from behind by a vehicle heading east on Wrigley Road as she jogged east on the east side of the road. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene.

The pedestrian, a 22-year-old female, was transported to an out-of-region hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

On January 20, 2025, officers arrested and charged a 27-year-old male for public mischief and fail to stop after accident – resulting in bodily harm.

The male is scheduled to appear in court in February of this year.
