Man charged with harassing youth on bus

Waterloo regional police have charged a 22-year-old Kitchener man in connection to a harassment incident that began on a bus that left the Ainslie Street Terminal in Cambridge earlier this month.

Police allege that on June 8, at around 9:45 p.m., a female youth was followed by the man while on public transportation from the Ainslie Street Terminal to the Fairview Park Mall Terminal and finally to the University of Waterloo Station. 

During the incident, the man attempted to converse with the youth but no physical injuries were reported. 

On June 21, investigators from the special victims unit, with assistance from the general investigations unit, arrested the man.

He has been charged with invitation to sexual touching, criminal harassment, and procuring.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on July 31.
