A 58-year-old Kitchener man is facing several charges after police say he drove his Ford pickup truck into incoming traffic, sideswiped an SUV and slammed into the ditch yesterday evening.
Waterloo regional police said on March 3, at around 6:20 p.m., officers responded to King Street East near Riverbank Drive for reports of a two-vehicle collision.
Through investigation, officers determined that a grey Ford pickup truck swerved into an oncoming lane of traffic, sideswiped a black Chevrolet SUV, and entered a ditch.
The occupants of the Chevy and the driver of the Ford sustained minor physical injuries and were transported to a local hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services.
The driver of the Ford, was charged with several offences, including operation while impaired, having a blood-alcohol level over the legal limit, dangerous operation, failing to wear a seatbelt and speeding.
