Police have laid additional charges against a man arrested earlier this month in connection to an armed robbery in Kitchener.

On Oct. 2, at around 8:30 p.m., Waterloo regional police responded to the area of Green Valley Drive and Mill Park Drive for a report of a gunpoint robber after a victim attended a residential building to purchase a vehicle advertised on an online website.

As part of that investigation, on Oct. 3, police charged a 31-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both from Kitchener, with multiple offences including forcible confinement and robbery with a weapon.

Ongoing investigation by the robbery team identified the 31-year-old man as a suspect in two other similar robberies involving a firearm in North Dumfries Township on Aug. 22, and in Waterloo on July 13.

On Tuesday, shortly after 10 a.m., investigators located the suspect in the Franklin Street North area of Kitchener and placed him under arrest.

The 31-year-old is now charged with three counts of kidnapping, two counts of robbery with a weapon, two counts of possession of a weapon and disguise with intent.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
