Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in North Dumfries Township.

On Jan. 2, at approximately 6:10 a.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision on Wrigley Road near Dumfries Road.

A pedestrian was struck from behind by a vehicle heading east on Wrigley Road as she jogged east on the east side of the road. The vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The pedestrian, a 22-year-old female, was transported to an out-of-region hospital by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The involved vehicle is believed to be a dark-coloured SUV.

The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Traffic Services Unit.
