The Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) is proud to announce it has been recognized as one of Waterloo Area’s Top Employers for 2025. This recognition highlights the Service’s commitment to providing an exceptional workplace for its members.

As the seventh-largest police service in Ontario, WRPS employs 1,262 dedicated members who serve the municipalities of Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge, as well as the Townships of Wellesley, Wilmot, Woolwich, and North Dumfries.

“This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and passion of our members who work tirelessly to ensure Waterloo Region residents feel safe and are safe each and every day,” said Mark Crowell, Chief of Police. “We are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive workplace to ensure the wellbeing of our members while fostering both professional and personal growth.”

WRPS was recognized for its dedication to community engagement, prioritizing member mental health and wellbeing, offering flexible work options, providing competitive benefits, and supporting charitable causes.

“This year’s Waterloo Area’s Top Employers lead the way in creating a sense of belonging that comes from building community,” says Kristina Leung, managing editor at Mediacorp. “It takes only small initiatives on an employer’s part to help employees take an active role in shaping their community while building friendships at work. These employers make it easier for staff to give back to the community through well-organized programs.”

In its 18th year, Waterloo Area’s Top Employers is an annual competition organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes the employers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
