Police have charged a 28-year-old Dundas man with stunt driving after a picketer was struck outside the Waterloo Region International Airport this morning.

The incident marks the second time a striking CUPE worker picketing at the airport has been struck in as many days.

Waterloo regional police said members of the Police Liaison Team (PLT) were in attendance at a labour dispute in the area of Fountain Street North and Airport Road when the collision happened around 6 a.m.

While the PLT was present, a driver and picketers engaged in a brief interaction in which one of the picketers was struck by a vehicle. The involved vehicle then proceeded past picketers at a high rate of speed.

The driver was arrested and charged with stunt driving.

No physical injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The investigation remains ongoing.
