Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a Cambridge driver in connection with two collisions Friday night in Cambridge.

Police say on March 21 at around 7:10 p.m., officers responded to the area of Lowrey Avenue South and Ballantyne Avenue after receiving reports of a suspicious impaired driver.

Upon arrival, police located a black Tesla that matched the description. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle which resulted in the vehicle colliding with a police cruiser.

There were no reports of physical injuries, police said in a news release.

Officers managed to stop the vehicle and arrested the driver.

The vehicle was also determined to be involved in a previous collision on Concession Street, police said.

A 29-year-old Cambridge female was charged with driving while impaired by alcohol, failure to stop after an accident, flight from a police officer, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

She is scheduled to appear in court in April.

None of the allegations have been tested in court and the accused is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
