Dog-walker struck by 'unidentified projectile:' police

A woman who was walking her dog in Elmira last evening suffered minor injuries after she was struck by a projectile police believe could be a pellet from a BB gun.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate the call as a weapons incident in Woolwich Township.

Police said around 6:50 p.m., they received a report of an individual struck by an unidentified projectile in the Bristow Creek Drive and Raising Mill Gage area.

The victim, a 43-year-old female from Woolwich Township, was walking her dog when a projectile, possibly a pellet or a BB, struck her.

Local residents provided first aid to the victim, who then received treatment at a local hospital for minor physical injuries.

The investigation is ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
