Ditched vehicle leads to impaired driving arrest for Cambridge man

PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP - Police arrested and charged a a 20-year-old Cambridge man with impaired driving after the vehicle he was operating ended up in the ditch on Roszell Road on Monday.

On Sept. 23, at around 1:30 p.m., officers from the Wellington County OPP detachment were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision, where the motor vehicle was reported to have crashed into a nearby ditch on Roszell Road, Puslinch.

As a result of the investigation, the driver was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code
  • Novice driver - blood alcohol concentration above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Young driver - blood alcohol concentration above zero, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
  • Careless Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice - Guelph, at a later date.

OPP ask that anyone with an urgent traffic complaint or suspicion that someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired by drugs or alcohol, to call 911 immediately.
