A Cambridge driver and trucking company are facing fines after Waterloo regional police sent a snow and ice covered trailer back to the yard Thursday for travelling in an unsafe condition.
In a post to Twitter, the WRPS traffic unit said officers escorted an unsafe trailer back to its yard after it was spotted with a mound of snow and ice on its roof Thursday morning.
Police remind drivers that any build up of snow and ice must be cleared from vehicles before hitting the roads.

Last month, OPP in Brant County took to social media to warn drivers of the dangers of not clearing snow and ice from the roofs of vehicles after responding to "multiple calls" about vehicles being damaged by flying ice.
A number of drivers have been injured after ice flew off trailers and smashed through windshields of trailing vehicles this winter.
The Highway Traffic Act fine for failing to clear snow and ice off vehicles is $110.
