Assault charge laid after disturbance at Westgate Plaza

A 34-year-old man was charged with assault, criminal harassment and uttering threats

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate disturbance at a Cambridge plaza.

On January 28, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., police responded to reports of a disturbance at Westgate Plaza on Cedar Street.

Officers arrived and located the male nearby. The male was arrested.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old male was arrested and charged with:

  • Utter threats to cause death (three counts)
  • Criminal harassment
  • Assault

There were no physical injuries reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
