Susie Pongsnoi, age 93, of Cambridge, Ontario passed away on Monday, May 13, 2024. Susie was born in Thailand on August 12th, 1930 and immigrated to Canada all alone in 1959. She was a career Registered Nurse and cared for countless patients from Thailand to Cambridge. Longtime member of Richview Baptist Church in Etobicoke where she made many friends, later moving to Cambridge, she attended Forward Church where she continued to win the hearts of the community with her bright smile and beautiful laugh. Susie loved music, ballet, good food and trips all around the world.
A heartfelt thank you to Olive, the kind neighbours on Anderson Avenue for their love, care and friendship, and the homecare staff who made it possible for her to be in her own home as long as possible; and to the incredible staff at Stirling Heights who made her last eight months so meaningful.
Visitation will be at Forward Church, 55 Franklin Blvd. on Friday, May 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am followed by a reception in Cameron Hall. Private interment will be at New Hope Cemetery. Donations in Susie’s honour can be made to Forward Church Cambridge (Multiply Campaign).
