Passed away suddenly on October 9, 2024.
Lovingly remembered by his mother Gisela Bast, his sister Angela Mercier (Joe), his brother Daryl Bast (Carla), his nieces Haley Mercier, Jessica Bast and Daril Bast, and nephew Ethan Mercier. Predeceased by his father Harry Bast.
Kevin was outgoing, sociable, funny, talkative, and one-of-a-kind. He was as comfortable talking with strangers as he was with family. He enjoyed singing, spending time with family and friends, loving his pets, knitting, and reminiscing about the good ol’ days. Kevin was a trooper – he endured through many physical ailments, and despite this, he approached life with joy, spirit and courage. His energy and light were contagious.
Special thanks to the staff at Kent Street Community Home for their love and care of Kevin during the time he lived there. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Community Living Cambridge, 160 Hespeler Rd., Cambridge, in memory of Kevin.
A funeral service will be held at Coutts Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge on Friday, October 18th at 1:00 p.m. with an informal gathering of friends and family from 2:00 to 5:00 pm to celebrate Kevin’s life.
