WORKFORCE PLANNING BOARD OF WATERLOO WELLINGTON DUFFERIN

For job searchers looking for support, there is a new resource that can help.
The “Help for Jobseekers” webpage on www.findyourjob.ca is simple and free to use, and connects job seekers to resources available to them locally: job search support, skills upgrading, education, apprenticeship, English as a Second Language classes, volunteer opportunities, and more.
Organizations that offer these services in Waterloo Region, Wellington County, and Dufferin County are included on the site.
In today’s economy, there has been more staff turnover at organizations that support job seekers, including colleges, Employment Ontario organizations, and school boards.
This staff turnover means a loss in understanding what supports exist for different populations seeking work.
“Help for Jobseekers” was created to address this gap by putting this information in one place that local jobseekers can access, as well as to provide job seekers awareness of the local services available to them.
“The support from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has allowed us to gather local resources, strike an employer expert group and implement the “Help for Jobseekers” tool," explained Charlene Hofbauer, executive director at the Workforce Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin.
"Jobseekers can use the decision-tree format to select options that will direct them to community supports which are tailored to their needs,” .
“Help for Jobseekers” is available at: https://www.findyourjob.ca/helpforjobseekers/.
This Employment Ontario project is funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario.
