Silver Leaves Brass of Cambridge are sporting new winter uniform sweaters as they welcome Santa to town during Christmas parades that began November 16 in Kitchener/Waterloo and continue until the season winds up December 14 with an evening parade in St. George.

Silver Leaves also recently added new banners to the group’s parade people-mover to recognize important community sponsors: Kitchener Access Storage, the City of Cambridge, Waterloo Region Community Foundation, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530 Waterloo and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 126 Preston.

The Christmas parades will cap the Silver Leaves parade and concert performance season for 2024, which began in late May with an evening concert at the bandshell in Ayr. The early season included the Preston Scout House Band Summer Social, an event open to the community, which attracted several hundred current and former members, relatives, friends and civic officials.

Preston Scout House Band Inc. is a non-profit corporation with registered charity status able to issue tax receipts to donors, incorporated under the Corporations Act of the Province of Ontario on November 29, 1956. The current active unit is Silver Leaves Brass, an all-age award winning brass ensemble.
