The Region of Waterloo is partnering with peopleCare Communities, a company with 50 years of experience in senior living communities and care services, to administer third doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to long-term care staff at the Cambridge Pinebush vaccination clinic. This will provide long-term care staff with more opportunities to get their third doses by the Jan. 28 deadline mandated by the Province.
Staff from peopleCare Communities and Region of Waterloo Public Health, with support from Home and Community Care Support Services Waterloo Wellington, will be operating vaccination clinics for long-term care staff at the Cambridge Pinebush location Mondays and Tuesdays for the next two weeks:
- Monday, Jan. 10 and Tuesday, Jan. 11
- Monday, Jan. 17 and Tuesday, Jan. 18
“We’re very appreciative that peopleCare, with Home and Community Care Support Services Waterloo Wellington, will be helping Region of Waterloo staff to administer third doses to long-term care home workers,” said Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Medical Officer of Health for the Region of Waterloo. “The additional health human resources support at this time means we can administer more third doses and protect the most vulnerable members of our community and those who care for them.”
In addition to vaccinating their own employees from the three peopleCare long-term care facilities in Waterloo Region, staff from other facilities will have the opportunity to book an appointment for a third dose. This will make it easier for long-term care workers to get their booster dose so they can continue working after the Province’s deadline.

Appointments are required. Staff will be receiving information about how to book an appointment through their employers.
