The Waterloo Region District School Board has released its 2023-24 School Year Calendar for elementary and secondary schools.
Important dates on the calendar include:
- PD Day for Elementary and Secondary Staff – Tuesday, September 5, 2023
- First Day of School – Wednesday, September 6, 2023
- Winter Break – Monday, December 25, 2023 to Friday, January 5, 2024
- March Break – Monday, March 11 to Friday, March 15, 2024
- Last Day of School for Secondary Students – Wednesday, June 26, 2024
- Last Day of School for Elementary Students – Thursday, June 27, 2024
The board's calendars and important dates on its website with detailed holiday information, school start and end dates, and PD Days.
Staff are asked to be mindful of the various Creed Accommodation Days and avoid scheduling exams, tests, extra-curricular clubs and sports, or events on these days.
Under the Ontario Human Rights Code, every effort should be made to provide accommodations to students and staff who observe these days when exams or religious/cultural days of significance coincide.
