Carla Johnson has been nominated as the Ontario Green candidate for Cambridge.

Carla Johnson has been nominated as the Ontario Greens’ candidate for Cambridge in the upcoming provincial election.

This is the second time the former middle school teacher has run for the Ontario Green Party after being nominated in 2021 and running in the 2022 provincial election.

Since then, the long-time Cambridge resident has served on the Waterloo Region District School Board trustee since being elected in the 2022 municipal election.

“I’m excited to stand with the Ontario Greens in this upcoming election,” said Johnson in a press release. “People are tired of watching politicians put their jobs ahead of their constituents.”

“At a time when most politicians are focused on toeing the party line, Green MPPS are leaders who are unafraid to speak up for their communities.”

"I’m thrilled that Carla has again made the decision to run as a Green candidate in Cambridge,” said Ontario Green’s leader Mike Schreiner.

“She’s a local leader with an entire community behind her and I know her people-powered approach and ceaseless determination will make her a strong advocate for Cambridge at Queen’s Park.”

Johnson is the author of two self-published books and an active volunteer in her local community. In her free-time she enjoys playing piano, painting, and photography.
