Throughout Canada’s military history, hundreds of thousands of Canadians have volunteered to serve their country in conflicts and peacekeeping missions around the world. Many have paid the ultimate sacrifice. On Remembrance Day, we honour their memory and service, and also pay tribute to those currently serving Canada at home and abroad.

On Monday, Nov. 11, Waterloo Warbirds will take to the skies to honour Canada’s veterans, active service members, and their families and friends. Their T-33 Silver Star and MiG-15 will fly over cenotaphs, cemeteries and ceremonies in Waterloo Region, Stratford, and surrounding communities. Their North American Harvard Mk. II B will fly over sites in Hespeler and Guelph. All three aircraft will be taking off from the Region of Waterloo International Airport shortly after 10 a.m.

More information on the flight will be shared on Waterloo Warbirds’ social media channels (@waterloowarbirds on Facebook and Instagram, and @waterloowarbird on X) as Remembrance Day approaches.

About Waterloo Warbirds: Waterloo Warbirds is a fully volunteer-run organization with four Cold War era fighter jets and one World War II trainer aircraft. Through passenger flight experiences and community events, their goal is to share aviation history first-hand, honour those who serve or have served in the Canadian Forces, and inspire the next generation of aviators.
