‘Tis the season for holiday magic. And nothing is more magical or seasonal than Arcady Ensemble's performance of Handel’s Messiah, coming to Cambridge on December 7.
“The best performance of Handel’s Messiah ever to whisk past my ears,” according to the Hamilton Spectator’s Hugh Fraser, is a uniquely jubilant performance, and one that Cambridge has not seen for several years.
“Arcady's Messiah is a uniquely vivacious experience of this classic work. The more traditional chamber-ensemble style relies on the strong abilities of each performer to individually shine in their own way,” explained an Arcady spokesperson.
They added, “Because we divide the solos amongst ourselves, no one is a "soloist" versus a "chorus member". If you'd like to see the musical athleticism required for four or five singers per part, Arcady's Messiah is the place to find it!”
The Baroque-style performance with chamber ensemble takes place at the beautiful Grace Bible Church in downtown Galt. Arcady Artistic Director Ronald Beckett is known for his dynamic and energetic interpretation of this classic holiday work.
“We are so thrilled that audiences will have the chance to see our professional chorus of soloists and chamber ensemble once more bring to life this holiday tradition in Cambridge!” said the spokesperson. “Don't miss your chance to hear the ensemble that specializes in Messiah. This concert traditionally sells out, so get your tickets now!”
Tickets for Arcady’s Messiah are $40 for general admission, $20 for those under 18, and are available online here, by email at [email protected], in person at Monigram Coffee Roasters, Valley Feeds, or by calling 519-428-3185.
