Waterloo Regional Police's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit has laid 11 additional charges in connection to a child pornography investigation.
In October 2024, the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit, conducted an investigation involving child pornography, arresting Christopher Elwick, 43, of Kitchener.
As part of the investigation, police seized several electronic devices from a residence. Forensic analysis of the devices revealed evidence of additional offences, including of a sexual assault of a child. The child has been identified and is safe.
On Feb. 13, 2025, Mr. Elwick was rearrested and charged with the following additional offences:
- Possession of child pornography (two counts)
- Make available child pornography
- Sexual assault
- Indecent act
- Invitation to sexual touching
- Sexual interference
- Make child pornography
- Voyeurism
- Luring children with telecommunication device
- Making sexually explicit material available to a child
The accused remains in custody.

Christopher Elwick, a 42-year-old Kitchener male, was arrested and charged in connection to this child pornography investigation.

Waterloo Regional Police arrest a Kitchener male after a child pornography investigation.
In October 2024, the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit, conducted an investigation involving child pornography.
As a result of an ongoing investigation, on Oct. 25, police arrested a 42-year-old Kitchener male and charged him with one count of making available child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
The male was held for a bail hearing.
