Police probe three break-In attempts in Cambridge, North Dumfries

Investigators believe these incidents may be connected, and the investigations are ongoing

Police are investigating three attempted break-and-enters at residences in Cambridge and North Dumfries Township.

On May 26, shortly after 3:30 p.m., police received a report of an in-progress break-in at a home on Lilywood Drive. An unknown male attempted to enter the home via a backyard door and fled when confronted by the homeowner.

Two more similar break-in attempts occurred, one on Lilywood Drive and one at around 2:30 p.m., on Autumn Maple Crescent in North Dumfries Township.

Entry was not made to any of the involved residences.

Investigators believe these three incidents may be connected, and the investigations are ongoing.

Residents in the area of Lilywood Drive and Autumn Maple Crescent are asked to check their security camera footage for any suspicious persons or activity between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Waterloo Regional Police are encouraging members of the public to keep all residential doors locked, even when home, and to report any suspicious activity or individuals to police immediately.
