Police identify suspect in two public transit assaults in Kitchener

Police have identified the male in connection with two assaults on public transit in Kitchener.

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) is continuing to investigate two assaults that occurred on public transit in Kitchener.

On Feb. 28, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., a victim was riding the LRT ION train near Fairview Park Mall when they were sexually assaulted by a male suspect.

On May 22, 2024, at approximately 9:30 p.m., another victim was riding the LRT ION train near Fairview Park Mall when they were assaulted by a male suspect.

The male pictured in connection to this investigation has been identified.

SVU investigators are looking to speak with the victims and any witnesses.
